After attending a lavish state banquet at Buckingham Palace last night, Donald and Melania Trump hosted their own diplomatic dinner at Winfield House—the U.S. ambassador's official residence, where the Trumps are staying for the duration of their U.K. state visit.

The President and First Lady welcomed Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, over for the evening. Trump and Charles wore tuxes, while Melania opted for a red cape dress, and Camilla donned a sparkling white gown.

This marks the second time during this state visit that they've met as a foursome, after Charles and Camilla hosted the Trumps for tea at Clarence House yesterday afternoon.

It's not yet known what they discussed over tea, but many have speculated that Prince Charles may have brought up their differing views on climate change. Charles has endeavored to make environmental advocacy central to his legacy, whereas Trump has used his presidential power to roll back eco-friendly regulations, undermine government climate scientists, and pull out of the Paris climate accord.

Based on the photos and early reports, however, it seems that the tea was amicable. This may have to do with Prince Charles beginning to step into more of a monarchical role. As the Prince of Wales, he's been given a bit of room to speak out on issues close to his heart—but he'll have to temper that urge as King.

"You can't be the same as the sovereign if you're the Prince of Wales or the heir," he told the BBC last fall."...the two—the two situations—are completely different."

When asked directly if his "meddling" in matters related to politics would continue, he rebuffed. "No, it won't," he said. "I'm not that stupid."
