Not only that, it's such an iconic design that the Museum of Modern Art selected it as one of 111 pieces featured in its current exhibition, "Items: Is Fashion Modern?," which highlights garments that have made a strong impact on the world in the 20th and 21st centuries.
The Snap-T version was initially created in 1985, when it was "the most technical fleece and the best insulation available," a Patagonia spokesman explained when the brand recreated the design in 2015. The recognizable design elements—the pocket and contrasting trim—have remained unchanged, and now the jacket is being offered at up to 30 percent off its retail price of $139 at Moosejaw.
