As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the entertainment industry, Outlander fans are bracing themselves for an extra-long Droughtlander—that dreaded period between new seasons of the TV series—ahead of season six.

While new episodes have been confirmed by Starz, it's unclear how long production will take, given the ongoing global health crisis.

But fortunately this morning, we can offer a bit of relief by way of an exclusive deleted scene from season five, which aired earlier this year. In the clip above, which will be included in the collectors edition of the season, but is premiering on T&C today, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) discuss their nephew young Ian's return to their community on Fraser's Ridge after having lived for an extended period with the Mohawk Native Americans.

Jamie calls Ian's return "a miracle" in the footage, which did not make its way into an episode.

"He seems changed," Claire says. "I wonder why now? Why he's come home. He doesn't seem to be in a hurry to talk to us about it, or about much of anything really."

Jamie then makes an observation about how Ian and Roger, who lost his ability to speak following a hanging this season, are "quite the pair," before saying:

"You're right, Sassenach. There must be a reason. Something must have made him come home."

Watch the scene above. Outlander's fifth season is available for digital download on September 14. The collector’s edition DVD, Blu-Ray, and Blu-Ray set will all be available on September 15 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
