Following yesterday's series of events with the British royal family, which included a private lunch at Buckingham Palace, a tour of Westminster Abbey, a tea at Clarence House, and of course, a lavish banquet, today's itinerary for President Trump's state visit to the U.K. turns its attention more squarely to politics.

Trump's day started with a breakfast with senior business leaders in the U.S. and U.K., in which Prince Andrew, the Duke of York was in attendance, then, the president and first lady met with British Prime Minister Theresa May and her husband Philip May at 10 Downing Street.

According to the New York Times, during the state visit Trump and May "are expected to discuss issues of security and trade, especially in the context of Brexit: Britain has hoped to strike a bilateral trade deal with the United States. " And later today, the two leaders are expected to hold a joint news conference.

But, discussions are made complicated by the fact that May has confirmed that she is stepping down from her position in just a few days.

Per the Guardian, Trump "has requested a meeting with the Conservative leadership candidate Michael Gove." But it's unclear at this point if he will meet with May's other potential successors, including Boris Johnson, during his time in London.
